Why a High Benchmark Score Does Not Mean an LLM Is Clinically Useful

Knowing what is not there is the foundation for building what is needed
The 40–60% result looks discouraging at first. But measuring the gap is how gaps get closed.
MedSP1000 gives the research community a target: dynamic clinical dialogue performance that approaches expert-level quality. That is a more valuable contribution than confirming that models are already capable.
For the field of medical AI, this study is also a methodological statement. Benchmarks should be designed to match the demands of actual deployment environments. When benchmarks are too easy, they generate false confidence. MedSP1000 is designed to be hard in the right ways.
